Wendy Jean is an innovative contemporary artist! Who explores texture ,colors and uses a variety of materials. She layers to create depth and complex surfaces in order to express her ideas, visions and dreams. Her portfolio spans large format including symbolic landscapes, abstract- surreal expressionism, mixed media experiments and serene representational art. Each piece invites the viewer to linger and look closer.
I’m just a small town girl with a creative flair!. My life as an artist has been a journey with God at the forefront. My style evolved as I expressed my sorrow over the sudden loss of my cousin. I saw an image during prayer and I wanted to create it. I went back to my roots as a teacher and added collage giving the image life.“Transformation” was born! Creativity and perseverance are my gifts. Experimenting with materials and applications leads to avenues of discovery that I then add to my repertoire. My 2D and 3D mixed media art comes to life as it jumps off the canvas with sculptural relief techniques. My current collection varies in style from representational , expressionism to surrealism. I’m predominantly self taught with a few classes along the way to hone my talents! In All honesty I love my art but I can’t wait to see how it changes and how I grow over time.
